We really are still alive!!

I'm finally finding some time to update our blog. In my last post I showed everyone some things we were doing to survive winter and a couple months later I feel like I need to do a similar post. IS SPRING OR SUMMER EVER GOING TO GET HERE???!!! If I see snow in June I swear we're gonna move to Phoenix. Anyway, here what the Lambson family has been up to latley.

We spent Easter weekend up in Island Park at my uncles cabin and it was really fun. My parents went up the day before us and there was no snow and beautiful.....the next morning we arrived to over a foot of fresh snow and we got stuck in their drive-way. But it is a nice cabin and we had fun.
Luke had fun playing in the snow. It was the most snow he's ever seen and we really wish we had brought a sled.... oh well!

Also this spring, we signed Luke up for Campfire soccer! We quickly learned that this sport is not for him. I had to keep reminding myself that he's only 3 years old and can't expect to much, but all the other 3 year olds weren't running around putting the cones on his head!!! But toward the end he was starting to get the hang of it and the cones lost their appeal.
Then I came home from work and Lane had let Luke make dinner for me.......the results are seen below. Yummy...who wants some?

Now for the highlight of Luke's life........ we went to Heber City and had "A Day Out With Thomas!"
He had so much fun!!! Anyone who knows Luke probably knows the extent of his love for Thomas and his friends. So when I found out they did this in Heber I knew we had to do it. We didn't tell him until the day of to avoid him asking us every 20 minutes if today was the day.
So we bought him a cute little conductors hat and had our day out with Thomas. There were like 500 other boys his age running around with that same little conductors hat on and it gets you a little paranoid about where your kid is. I just kept thinking, what would I say to the security guy......he's 3 years old, wearing a thomas shirt, and a conductors hat! But we managed not to lose him :)

He wanted the the conductor to punch his tickets like the conductor on Polar Express. And since we've been home he's been making his own train tickets and got my hole punch and pretends to be the conductor, it's cute!

All a board....the train ride was kinda short but Luke didn't care. They had a lot of other activities and of course all kinds of Thomas crap for the kids to beg their parents for. Our little family had a great time and anything that makes my boy that happy I'm sure we will do again!
So that's what we've been up to. I hope my next post is full of pictures of us camping, fishing, swimming, and anything outdoors. If not Phoenix here we come.

Some of our winter activities!!!

I think most moms would agree that it is much more fun to post pictures and talk about your kids than of yourself. So as result you get lots of pictures of Luke. Of course I'm always the one taking the pictures so I'm never in them. Anyway, we offically have spring fever so we've been doing our best to survive this winter. We really don't have any winter hobbies (unless building snowmen and shoveling sidewalks is a hobby). So here's a few thing things Luke has been doing to stay entertained.
Riding his bike in the house naked.............why naked you ask?? Not sure, just happened and I grabbed the camera. But he's obviuosly loving the freedom!

Yet, another naked picture......it started with him just dipping his feet in the sink and ended up naked and making a mess. He gets away with alot if you can't tell!

On this next picture I cannot figure out how to rotate the picture but hopefully you'll still enjoy Luke's efforts in learning to dress himself. He was still in his PJ's and wanted to go to the store and I said no not yet because your still in your PJ's. So he went in his room and tried his hardest and came up with this super hot outfit. Yes that is underwear on top and a t-shirt with his legs through the arm holes. We sat out in the hall and spyed on him and just laughed and laughed and then of course finally helped him!

And of course no kids winter is complete without building a snowman!

And we managed to sneak in a trip to Phoenix in January. Lane had a doctors appointment and his sister and brother live there too. You'd think going in Phoenix in January would help with our spring fever, but it wasn't exactly warm like I wanted it to be. We still had a good time!! It rained like crazy the first 2 days we were their. Luke loved playing in all the water that pooled up at the park.
The weather did straighten up a little and Luke got to play outside and ride his bike around the neighborhood (yes we hauled his bike all the way down there).

Well there's your update of a few things we're doing to survive the remaining months of winter!

Another year gone!

Well, we survived another Christmas!!! And that's saying something for this little family because the last 3 Christmas's have involved Lane either being in the hospital, having surgeries, or recovering from surgery. So were happy to report that besides some mild colds we escaped the major crap this year. We did however have plenty going on. My family was pretty low key this year but the entire Lambson crew managed to pile into the Lambson Look-out (Lane's parents house) for some good times!! This was our attempted at a family picture.
We had so much fun doing the Christmas thing, soaking at Lava, hookie-bobbing, playing Rock Band, and Luke loved playing with his cousins. Christmas was so fun with Luke this year, what a perfect age for him to take it all in. He of course got a bunch of Thomas stuff, a crane, a new sled, a toy gun, and much much more.

I think Lane was more excited to start target practice then Luke was to get the gun. Actually he's been having a lot of fun with it running around shooting stuff, especially the dog!
Every Saturday in December the railroad opened their model train set up to the public. So guess where we were every Saturday in December?? That's right playing with trains! It's actually pretty cool and Luke of course was mesmerized by it.
And below is a picture of Luke trying to eat a ginger bread train. We went to a ginger bread house festival and I thought Luke would like it but soon found that it was torture for a 3 year old to be told over and over to keep his hands off and that he couldn't eat ANYTHING!
Hopefully all of our friends and loved ones had a great Christmas and New Year! This past year has been full of trials in our family but we are truly blessed. It's like all the crappy things that happen all work out so there not so crappy. Hopefully that make sense!

Finally pictures of our bathroom!

Our bathroom remodeling project has been a typical Lane and Jenny project. We start it, then get it to the point we can function with it, and then spend months putting the final touches on it. But it's finally at a point where I can post some pictures. I looked everywhere for my before pictures and couldn't find them. But trust me when I say we did this house a huge favor by bringing it out of the 1970's. It had wild striped wallpaper, golden floral linoleum, and yellow paisley counter tops. I couldn't find my before pictures but do still have small samples of the old floor and counter tops.....scary I know!!

So our bathroom project has had several phases to it. Phase 1 was Lane tiling the floor a couple years ago. I just couldn't stand that gross floor any longer. Phase 2 has been the big one which included getting a new vanity and counter tops. And phase 3 is yet to come, we still need to tile the shower and probably get a new bath tub. But for now we just close the shower curtain and pretend it's all finished! We had a lot of help from my dad and Lanes dad with all this and probably couldn't have done it without them. So big thanks to them!!
I did my best to take good pictures but found that to be hard in a long skinny bathroom, but here you go.....

My huge new vanity with tons of storage.....love it!

I really like the shower curtain I found!! And it looks good with my back splash too!

So there it is. I love my new bathroom and can't believe we waited so long to remodel it. Every time we do a project like this I always wonder why in the world we wanted to buy an older house and not new construction. Oh well!

I'm finally getting around to posting something new on our blog. I know it's been forever and I'm now realizing that I probably never should have started a blog because I'm just not good at keeping it updated. Oh well, just be happy to see something new every few months.
Our summer is now gone. It went by so fast and we didn't get to do a lot of the things that we wanted to due to Lane's recovery, but here's a little bit of what we've been up too.
Luke had his 3rd birthday!! We went camping and celebrated with family up in the mountains. I really love this age because he's my little man and is learning so much so fast. But its also hard to watch him grow up so fast because he'll most likely be our only child and its just hard to lose my baby. But I'll get over it because there's nothing I can do about it. But here's a pic from my little mans birthday party.

Then, over Labor Day we went camping down by Bear Lake. We had fun going to the Ice Cave and then swimming all day at Bear Lake. Luke's cousins were there and he had a blast playing in the sand, flying kites, and of course swimming.

Luke also started preschool. He's so funny now whenever we walk by those flowers he tells me that he doesn't want me to take his pictures today. I think he gets tired of me following him around with a camera.

Well there's a brief update for everyone. We got family pictures last week. My goal is to post a few of those before the end of the year. Lane has been feeling pretty good latley. Although I wonder if he's just faking it so I'll let him go hunting. October and November are always his healthiest time of year...LOL.
