Where do I begin???

I really do have an excuse for my lack of blogging. First our lives have been far from simple the last little while as you'll soon see. And I've been having trouble loading my pictures onto my computer but I think I might have that problem fixed. Who wants to read a blog with no pictures, not me. So let's start with Memorial Day weekend.... My family went camping up in the middle of somewhere north of here. My parents took Luke with them and then I joined them for 1 night. It was a nice get away and if would ever stop raining I'd like to get out and camp some more.

I have a picture of me when I was little in my grandparents motor home bath tub and I couldn't help but re-create it. I promise he had sun screen on.

And this next picture is my niece, Kirianna, and the picture is just too funny not to share. She was really digging for some gold. I plan on saving this picture for future blackmail!

Now for the not so funny stuff....Most of you know of Lane's ongoing health issues. But I'll give a re-cap for those who don't. He has Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) which for the past year and a half have cause a lot a pain, discomfort, and just feeling like crap most the time. He's had more kidney stones than we can count and several surgeries, procedures, test, and medications to try and help. He will ultimatley need to have a kidney transplant, like his father and 2 aunts have had (its genetic). The problem being he still has a lot of his function so a transplant is a ways off, yet his left kidney almost constantly gives him grief. They've tried draining cyst and cutting the nerves to the kidney so he won't feel pain, but nothing has really helped. So we had another procedure scheduled to go in and drain a bunch of cyst to relieve pressure(his kidneys are 3 times the size they should be). A couple hours into surgery, the doctor calls me and said he thought we should just take the kidney out because it looked bad and wasn't really able to do as much as he had planned. Finally, 6 hours of surgery and a couple of blood transfusions later, my poor hubby has one less kidney and yet another scar to add to the collection.
I dig guys with scars. Hopefully this will help with that issue. But his elbow is a whole other issue. He has a arthritic condition that affects his joints. He's had both hips replaced and multiple elbow surgeries. Well, his elbow surgery he had back in December didn't work so he's back in Arizona at the Mayo Clinic having an elbow replacement this week. I stayed home to work (someone's gotta keep insurance on that boy). So far so good with both these surgeries but he has a lot of recovering and therapy ahead of him. Hopefully we will regain some normalcy in our lives and Lane can be more comfortable.
Luke and I made it to Hogel Zoo when we were in SLC for the kidney surgery. It would have been more fun with Dad there, but we still had a good time!
And of course I have to post a picture of my sweet Luke. He getting so big and so smart!

Thanks to those who have helped, supported, and prayed for us during this difficult time. I can't imagine my life without the love and support of friends and family. We are truly blessed.

I would definitely say you have an excuse to not blog. And honestly I HATE to blog without pictures too. So I hear you there. Let us know if we can do anything to help. We could take Luke for an afternoon if you guys need a break.

Thanks for the update. It looks like you've been able to have some good times with all the health issues. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys and hope for a speedy recovery!
